I was using a cheap carbon fiber mount that I had to modify because it looks very weak. But the biggest problem I had was finding a case that would fit the radio with out removing the mount. I do not want to buy a huge cage just because of the mount but rather use the Futaba hard case that I already have.
The mount that Evolution 3D makes is not the cheapest thing in the world but I think it is well worth the money. Not only does it look strong but when you removed the monitor you can fit the radio the hard case. I also like how you can adjust the angle of the monitor too and it will fit most 7inch LCD monitor. The mount was designed especially for the Black Pearl but I am using a Bosecam/ Neewer 7 inch Diversity monitor and it fits perfectly.

The extra support and quick release I made for the old monitor mount

Look how much space it takes up for this mount. I can not fit this in my radio case

All you need to do is remove 2 screw from the top of the radio

Remove the original top plate.

Now it is ready for the Evolution 3D mount

Here is the futaba top plate next to the Evolution 3D mount

Place the Evolution 3D mount on top and put the 2 screws back in

Here is the mount installed

Loosen the large screw with the handle to remove the monitor

Profile view with the monitor removed. Here you can see the large screw with the handle.

It is a lot easier to remove the large screw than to the tiny screw that holds the monitor down.

With the monitor off now I can fit the radio in the case. The other half of the mount is still attached to the radio too.

The mount is compact and all you need to do is take out one screw to remove the LCD monitor to store the radio.
