|Its been almost a year since I sold all my FPV gear and now I am itching to get another setup again. Now I have a better understanding about how everything works and what I want in a FPV setup. I want something that is small portable and cheap. Here is a list of items I ended up getting:
Around the same time I also purchase a few DJI modular add-ons:
But before I can use these DJI add-ons I had to convert my Naza M v1 to v2 but getting the following:
I also learned that most Naza M v1 needed to modified, by adding a 330ohm resistor between 2 pins so the LED light will work. So, that is extactly what I did and now it is a V2.
I have to say, I am glad I bought the Boscam, Â Neewer and GeorgeZ FPV gear because they exceeded my expectations. I was able to fly over 3000 feet before getting any static, and that is a lot further than I ever plan to fly.
The most important thing for me is portability. I did not like the last FPV setup I had because there were so many things I had to carry with me if I ever want to use it. After lugging all the gear I still have to set it up. But now the diversity receiver and battery are all built in to the Boscam LCD monitor. Not only is it smaller and lighter but all I have to do now it just turn on the monitor.
Around the same time I came across a deal for DJI Zenmuse H3-3D 3 axis brushles gimbal on RCG that I could not pass up. So I upgraded my Tarot T-2D 2 axis with this new gimbal. But that sad thing is, I am not sure if it is really an upgrade or downgrade moving to a DJI gimbal. There are a few known issues with the DJI Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal, like Yawing to the left. By added a different vibration dampener to the DJI gimbal it helped with some of my yawing issues but I am stilll getting a bit of Jelloing effects in my videos. I am going to rebuild the dampeners for the gimbal and see if it helps any. Stay tuned……
Here are all the added electronics I needed for the DJI Zenmuse H3-3D, Naza v2 PMU, LED, and GCU.
On the left of the image is the Bo Boscam FPV 8CH 400MW Video Audio A/V TX 4KM Transmitter with a GeorgeZ 5.8ghz RHP Antenna. And the little back box on the right is the DJI iOSD Mark II.
For the time being I will mount the LCD monitor to a Sony tripod.
On top of the monitor is a GeorgeZ 5.8ghz RHP Antenna (Omni directional) and a GeorgeZ 5.8ghz 3turn Cannon (directional for long range)
